- The Marathon Des Sables is described as the toughest footrace on Earth covering 243 km across the Sahara desert.Competitors have to carry all their own equipment and food for six days and run the equivelant of a Marathon a day. This is my MDS 2010 training log. Hopefully I'll be able to record not only a successful physical training regime, but also the logistics involved in getting to the race properly prepared and kitted out. I'm also hoping to raise loads of money for charity!!
